My name is Leah, and I have been an artist and potter for over two decades. I really enjoy the process of giving a thrown piece more personality using sgraffito (carving) sculpting and other design techniques. Starting ceramics in high school has given me a chance to work with an abundance of great teachers. These teachers, fellow artists, facilitators and friends have given me endless inspiration, to which I am eternally grateful. Ceramics gave me purpose though out my formative years. Now it has become a professional pursuit. I believe that art is a universal language. I am fortunate to be fluent in many of its dialects but still, ever learning and growing.

As I age, my beliefs around end-of-life have evolved. Growing up I felt as if I was meant to work in this field. I just didn’t know how to define this part of me. Discovering end-of-life Doula-ship has changed the way I show up in everyday life. Dying is seldom regarded as positive in our society, but there is a movement happening to bring conscious dying to the masses. I am pleased to be a part of this movement, for myself, my family and others I cross paths with along this journey. I welcome death as a sacred part of getting to be alive. I believe it can be beautiful and heart-opening for all involved.

I am trained through the International End-of-Life Doula Assocation (INELDA) and hold a certified nursing assistant (CNA) license. I continue my education by attending symposiums and collaborative gatherings throughout the year. I take my work seriously and pride myself in being aware of changes, improvements and new discoveries in the end-of-life field.

I have ventured into caring for family members and those close to me in their last years of life. I now have the privilege to be working with a larger community. I genuinely enjoy spending time with these unique folks in facilities as well as there their personal homes through hospice volunteering and as a private doula. I intend to dedicate my life to serving this community with love and respect.
